Economy 2018: The Never-ending story

Craig has worked in the banking, finance and journalism industries for 36 years. He holds a Bachelor and Master degrees in Commerce (Economics) from the University of NSW. He was also recently included in the list of top 50 most influential social media users by Financial Standard.

Craig is married with three teenage children and currently lives in Huntley’s Cove, just to the north of Sydney. His chief interest outside work is Masters athletics, basically sprints. 

Craig’s current role is Chief Economist, CommSec, interpreting ‘big picture’ economic and financial trends for customers, clients and staff. As well as providing presentations to staff and clients and commentaries on financial and economic trends, he appears regularly in the electronic and print media. 

Michelle Melbourne is a globally focussed technology entrepreneur who inspires and motivates others to achieve individual and organisational goals. She is passionate about the power of people and technology. 

Having co-founded Intelledox - one of Australia's most successful and enduring software companies - over 20 years ago, Michelle is an established thought leader in the productivity benefits that can be gained for businesses through the smart use of process automation technology. She mentors entrepreneurs and business leaders in the importance of the effective uptake of technology and has been instrumental in driving many important new initiatives, in both technology circles and in influencing government policy surrounding business, innovation, and collaboration.

Michelle is currently collaborating with the Australian National University’s Intelledox Digital Transformation Centre, an initiative that has put the ANU at the global forefront of digital innovation and productivity.

Cyber security is all the rage! 
However things are about to get a whole lot more exciting with the introduction of the Notifiable Data Breaches (“NDB”) scheme from 22 February 2018. 

This discussion will briefly revisit cyber challenges for organisations and then explore the impact of the NDB scheme and the question of what happens when you are breached. This part of the discussion will focus on useful information so that as management, an informed role can be taken on dealing with a breach.
